Plagiarism Policy

Learning Nexus of Computing (LNC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and all forms of academic misconduct. Authors are expected to submit only original work that has not been published previously or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts found to contain unacceptable levels of similarity or evidence of unethical publication practices may be rejected at any stage of the editorial process.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, figures, tables, or ideas from published or unpublished sources without proper acknowledgment.

  • Presenting another person's work, data, or research findings as one's own.

  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication without appropriate citation.

  • Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without proper attribution.

  • Using AI-generated or third-party content without adequate verification, originality, or disclosure where applicable.

  • Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals.

Similarity Screening

All manuscripts submitted to LNC are checked using appropriate plagiarism detection software before peer review.

The editorial team evaluates the similarity report carefully, considering both the percentage of similarity and the nature of the matched content. Legitimate similarities arising from references, standard technical terminology, institutional information, or properly quoted material are assessed separately from potential plagiarism.

Editorial decisions are based on a qualitative assessment of the similarity report rather than on a similarity percentage alone.

Editorial Action

If plagiarism or excessive similarity is detected, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Request clarification or revision from the authors.

  • Return the manuscript for correction before peer review.

  • Reject the manuscript.

  • Withdraw the manuscript from the review process.

  • Retract the published article if plagiarism is discovered after publication.

  • Notify the authors' institution or funding agency in cases of serious academic misconduct, where appropriate.

Self-Plagiarism

Authors must not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without appropriate citation and justification.

If previously published material is included, authors must:

  • Properly cite the original publication.

  • Clearly indicate reused content where applicable.

  • Ensure that the new manuscript represents a significant and original scholarly contribution.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to LNC are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The manuscript is entirely original.

  • All borrowed ideas, text, data, images, and illustrations are properly cited.

  • Necessary permissions have been obtained for copyrighted materials.

  • The manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal.

  • Any overlap with previous publications is fully disclosed at the time of submission.

Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers play an essential role in identifying potential plagiarism and publication misconduct. If any ethical concerns arise during the review process, they should immediately inform the Editorial Office for further investigation.

All reported cases will be handled confidentially, fairly, and in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

Retraction Policy

If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified after publication, LNC reserves the right to:

  • Publish a correction or clarification.

  • Retract the article.

  • Remove the article from journal records where necessary.

  • Publish a formal retraction notice explaining the reason for retraction.
